DEVELOPMENT OF NEW ART (DNA) is a project of culture organizations: New Web (Czech Republic), Bora Bora (Denmark), Schloss Bröllin (Germany), L1 Association (Hungary), Fish Eye Artistic Association (Lithuania), Chorea Theatre Association (Poland), A4 (Slovakia), Glej Theatre (Slovenia), it is supported by the EU's Culture Programme
Last weekend in January the series of workshops of the new DNA coproduction /Lithuania, Hungary, Czech Republic/ by well-established Danish choreographer Palle Granhøj was finished.
The aim of the workshops was to select new dancers for an international co-production project initiated by the DNA network.
The highest number of participants arrived in Prague's Ponec Theatre, 17 dancers from Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Slovenia. Except for Germany and Denmark the workshops were attended by representatives from all countries of the DNA network. In the end the choreographer have chosen 7 dancers instead of planned six thanks to their artistic skills, which is a great news!
The rehearsals for the co-production project called Men & Mahler begin on February 15th at the Granhøj Dans studio. The premier is being discussed right now. Untill the end of this year and in 2013 the co-production will tour around Europe, not only within the DNA network /Czech Republic, Denmark, Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary/.
The main co-coordinator of the co-production is Danish center for dance and visual theater BORA BORA.
The main goal of the DNA project’s initiator NEW WEB /www.novasit.cz/ is except the development of new art also active networking. Through this collaboration with Granhøj Dans the goal is being accomplished, individuals as well as organizations in Europe are brought together by the art and to support the art.
